Good morning.

Here’s everything you need to know in finance this morning.

The ASX is expected to open slightly higher today. The SPI200 futures contract was up 12 points, or 0.18 per cent to 6,565.0 at 7am this morning.

But while the Aussie markets might be up, Wall Street finished flat overnight, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 0.05 per cent, the S&P 500 down 0.03 per cent, and the Nasdaq Composite down 0.01 per cent.

Woolworths was taken to Fair Work by the retail workers’ union over its planned restructure which could see workers face redundancy, and it’s all eyes on the Woolies share price as a result.

Oil and gold prices are also edging higher, and keep a watchful eye on Afterpay Touch shares after the company entered a trading halt to embark on a $400 million capital raising.
