Top 25 most desirable companies in Australia

New data reveals the top 25 most attractive companies for Aussies to work at, with surprising results.

The list, complied by LinkedIn, includes both local and international companies, the number of job applications generally received, employee engagement and new hire staying power.

The list includes a range of accounting and consulting firms, supermarkets and banks, among other businesses.

Major accounting firms dominate the top five, with KPMG and PwC coming in the first two positions respectively.

Interestingly, in terms of our Aussie supermarkets, Coles was far ahead of the game as the most attractive supermarket giant to work for, taking the fourth place on the list.

According to LinkedIn data, the supermarket chain is so in demand that it receives more than 400,000 job applications every year, employing around 100,000 nationwide.

It boasts benefits of in-store discounts, flexible working hours which see some employees stick around even for decades.

The only other Aussie supermarket to make the list was Woolworths, which places far behind in 24th place.

Commonwealth Bank made it to number three on the list, it says owing to its high level of technology and automation both for customers and to help streamline employees day-to-day job.

Deloitte, Westpac, Qantas, Lion, UGL and CPB Contractors make up the rest of the companies in the top 10.
