Have you got an old Care Bear hanging around somewhere, gathering dust?

The cuddly, colourful teddy bears were well-loved in the 1980s – but now, they’re valuable for entirely different reasons that are decidedly not sentimental.

Vintage Care Bears are now prized items for serious toy collectors, and they can fetch hundreds – or even possibly thousands – of dollars.

As reported by 7 News, some bears sell for less than $10 but if you’ve got the right one, some can fetch nearly $800. On rare occasions, some special Care Bears or Care Bear collections could go for upwards of a whopping $10,000.

The most expensive Care Bears sold

Websites like Doopydoo’s and Care Bear Collectors have been set up for serious toy traders.
