Got a problem with your schnoz?

Rhinoplasty can help fix breathing problems, birth defects or injuries, but can also just be used to change the shape of your nose.

If you’re considering it, you’ll need to weigh up surgeons’ fees, anaesthetists’ fees, clinic or hospital fees’ and the costs for medication and dressings. And if you take time off work you’ll need to calculate that impact.

A nose job can cost between $8,000 and $20,000, Canstar found.

That’s based on $5,000 to $15,000 in surgeon’s fees, another $1,250 for an anaesthetist and another $1,500 for hospital costs.

That’s in addition to initial consultation fees of $100 to $500.

Medicare may cover some of the costs if you’re getting a nose job because of a medical necessity. The same goes for private health insurers.

How much does a wedding cost?

January 20th 2020 - Buckingham Palace has announced that Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan will no longer use "royal highness" titles and will not receive public money for their royal duties. Additionally, as part of the terms of surrendering their royal responsibilities, Harry and Meghan will repay the $3.1 million cost of taxpayers' money that was spent renovating Frogmore Cottage - their home near Windsor Castle. - January 9th 2020 - Prince Harry The Duke of Sussex and Duchess Meghan of Sussex intend to step back their duties and responsibilities as senior members of the British Royal Family. - File Photo by: zz/KGC-03/STAR MAX/IPx 2018 5/19/18 Prince Harry The Duke of Sussex and Meghan Markle The Duchess of Sussex - man and wife - at their wedding ceremony held at St. George's Chapel on the grounds of Windsor Castle. (Windsor, England, UK)
The average Australian wedding costs a bit less than Meghan and Harry's royal extravaganza.

The average cost of a 2019 wedding in Australia was $53,168, according to a survey of 500 brides by wedding service Wedded Wonderland.

That’s an increase of 3.75 per cent from 2018.

“Budget weddings are sitting at the $10,000 - $20,000 mark, whereas luxury spend is excessive of $100,000,” Wendy El-Khoury, founder of Wedded Wonderland said.

However, the Australian government’s MoneySmart has a slightly more reassuring figure: it puts the average Australian wedding at $36,000.

That covers:

  • Venue

  • Ceremony and rings

  • Food and alcohol

  • Flowers

  • Photography

  • Entertainment

  • Clothing and accessories

  • Cars, hair, makeup

But if that seems too expensive, you could do what Queensland couple Leonie Starr and Matthew Porter have done: pay for their wedding with recycled bottles.

Starr has collected hundreds of thousands of bottles, saving enough to pay for the entire wedding.

Some artists will charge for time they use to design the tattoo outside of the actual appointment too.

According to Aussie Prices, tattoos range in price from $150 to $1,500 if you’re paying based on size.

If you’re paying for a tattoo artist by the hour, you’re looking at $100 to $250 an hour, depending on their level of experience.
