Burnley vs Tottenham: Carabao Cup prediction, kick off time, TV, live stream, team news and h2h results today

Tottenham need a win as they travel to face Burnley in the Carabao Cup fourth round tonight.

Spurs have suffered back-to-back defeats in the past week, with entirely different lineups losing away to Vitesse Arnhem in the Europa Conference League and at West Ham in the Premier League on Sunday.

Last season, under Jose Mourinho, Spurs reached the final of this competition, but the Portuguese was sacked in the week leading up to the final and they went on to lose to Manchester City under interim boss Ryan Mason.

New manager Nuno Espirito Santo is already under scrutiny and while the competition might represent a realistic shot at ending the club’s trophy drought, the former Wolves boss’ more immediate attention will be on shoring up his position.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Burnley vs Tottenham is scheduled for a 7:45pm BST kick-off tonight - Wednesday, October 27, 2021.

Where to watch Burnley vs Tottenham

The match will not be broadcast live on TV in the UK.

However, highlights are available on Quest from 10:30pm BST.

Burnley vs Tottenham team news

Nuno gave his second-string a chance to impress in Arnhem and they failed to take it, but with a crunch meeting with Manchester United to come at the weekend, he may not be too keen on fielding a full strength lineup either.

A hybrid side is the most likely alternative, though Dele Alli and Harry Winks have both been omitted from the squad, raising further doubts over their respective Spurs futures.

Tottenham XI: Gollini; Royal, Sanchez, Romero, Davies; Lo Celso, Skipp, Hojbjerg; Bergwijn, Gil; Kane.

Subs: Austin, Rodon, Dier, Doherty, Reguilon, Tanganga, Ndombele, Moura, Son.

Burnley XI: Pope; Roberts, Collins, Mee, Pieters; Gudmundsson, Brownhill, Cork, McNeil; Rodriguez, Vydra.

Subs: Norris, Bardsley, Taylor, Long, Westwood, Wood, Cornet, Lennon, Barnes.

Burnley vs Tottenham prediction

Much will depend upon the strength of Nuno’s team, but Burnley also have bigger priorities at the moment, yet to win in the league this season and preparing to host newly-promoted Brentford on Saturday.

Tottenham to win on penalties.
