The best Aldi specials this week

Aldi Australia, at least in the minds of the public, is best for grocery prices compared to its bigger rivals Woolworths and Coles.

In fact, Aldi occupies such a soft spot in some hearts that a recent study found Australian shoppers had an "emotional connection" to the German supermarket that they didn't for its home-grown rivals.

The retailer's twice-weekly "Special Buys" are must-attend events for many shoppers, with bargain hunters lining up outside Aldi before opening to grab the deliberately limited items.

Even the anxiety-inducing speedy checkouts couldn't dampen Australia's enthusiasm for Aldi, which is projected to catch up to Coles and Woolworths in market share in 10 years.

Aldi Australia also has weekly grocery specials called "Super Savers", which aren't quite as impressive as Coles and Woolworths' 50%-off specials in terms of discount percentage. But Aldi's sale items are likely marked down from a lower standard price.

For your convenience, Yahoo Finance has pushed its trolley through the store to present you the pick of the Special Buys and Super Savers on sale this week:
