Update: The unit pricing metric was incorrect for the Allen’s Retro Party Mix lollies. This has now been corrected.

Aldi is appealing to bulk buyers around Australia on Wednesday as they unleash some massive packs of food items as a one-off special.

The supermarket chain's famous Special Buys range often sees customers queue up to grab non-food bargains like household appliances, clothing, and replicas of high-end skincare.

But this Wednesday (August 28) will see larger-than-life grocery items dominate the store.

Do you like olives? Can you get through a 2kg jar of Kalamatas for $10.99? That works out to be $5.50 per kg, compared to $8.70 per kg for the in-house brand at Woolworths.

1kg bag of Allen's Retro Party Mix lollies is going for $8.99. That's 90c per 100g, which is a 43 per cent discount to Coles' $1.58 per 100g for exactly the same confectionery.

Here are the other bulk groceries to be unleashed Wednesday August 28:

  • Roasted red pepper (capsicum) strips 2kg jar: $7.99

  • Green sliced jalapeños 1.95kg jar: $7.99

  • Sundried tomato strips 1.5kg jar: $9.99

  • Heinz Big Red condensed tomato soup 4x420g cans: $3.99

  • Nutella 900g jar: $7.99
