Roku surging after earnings report

Roku announced earnings after the closing bell on Thursday.

Video transcript

JARED BLIKRE: We got Roku. Now Roku is actually just having its worst day in a while. It's down 6 and 1/2% to a five-month low. That was before the report. They reported net revenue for the first quarter of $574 million. That is up 79% year over year. Estimate was for much lower for $492 and 1/2 million. Average revenue per customer $32.14, that beat as well. Active customer accounts, 53.6 million. That almost beat, but it was up 35% year over year, so a slight miss right there. And finally, gross margins hitting it-- knocking it out of the park, up about 57% lower-- excuse me-- the estimate was for lower at about 49%. And just taking a look at that stock, guess what? Practically erasing the day's loss. It's up about 6% in after hours trading. Guys.
