Retail earnings, housing data, bank testimonies: Top headlines to watch next week

- It is closing time here at Yahoo Finance. Let's get you ready for the week ahead. First up, we get a slew of retail earnings next week. Among the big ones, Home Depot, Target, and Walmart. And given today's weaker than expected consumer confidence data, we're going to be looking to see what company leadership says about what consumers are not spending their money on.

- We will also get some reads on another key sector of the economy-- housing. We will get homebuilder confidence index on Tuesday followed by housing starts on Wednesday. On Thursday, we will be watching existing home sales.

- And finally, on Tuesday, we're going to be watching for a Senate Banking hearing on the collapse of Silicon Valley and Signature Banks. The former CEO of Silicon Valley Bank will be testifying along with the former president and former chairman of Signature Bank.
