Brazil on massive manhunt for suspected serial killer

Brazilian authorities are on the hunt for suspected serial killer.

Lazaro Barbosa is accused of killing four people and taking more than ten hostages in recent weeks.

On Tuesday, police searched through the quiet town of Cocalzinho de Goias.

One resident said they’ve been gripped with fear.

"This crime drew so much attention, brought so much terror that we (residents) can't sleep properly, it's getting more and more complicated!"

Barbosa is believed to have passed through this farming region about 200 miles west of the country’s capital, Brasilia.

Many of the residents have fled the area, with police reports of Barbosa shooting people, taking hostages and setting a vehicle on fire.

The manhunt has lasted more than a week with nearly 300 officers deployed, five dogs and search helicopters.
