Australia's Todd River swells after record rainfall
Video obtained by Reuters showed overflowing water from the Todd River almost reaching the level of a sidewalk while some trees lining the river were partially submerged by the high water level.
More than 100 mm of rainfall was recorded overnight, making it the wettest 24-hour period since January 30, 2001, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
Flood watch and severe thunderstorm warnings are now in place, weather authorities said.
