INSIDE: Discovery Channel founder’s $400 million ranch for sale

If you have a spare $400 million and feel like buying a ranch and resort; rejoice. You finally can.

Discovery Channel founder, John Hendricks, has popped his Colorado property on the market - and while it’s no small fee, it’s no small property either.

Hendricks himself has lived on the property, called the Gateway Canyons Ranches & Resort, since the 90s, and resided in the private West Creek Ranch Residence, according to Boss Hunting.

The private four-floor mansion is a cool 22,000 square-feet, and holds eight bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a double level library, theatre, gym, art studio and spa.

There’s also an aeroplane hanger, grass airstrip and two helicopter pads.

Don’t worry if you don’t have a helicopter, Hendricks is throwing one in to sweeten the deal.

To top it off, there’s even a 400 square-foot observatory.

Situated in the Cottonwood Red Rock Canyon, the entire property is home to 14 small homes, five restaurants, business conference facilities and the Gateway Auto Museum, which houses more than 50 vehicles - all owned by Hendricks himself.

Offers start at US$279 million (AU$400.7 million).
