Video conferencing tool Zoom has gone gangbusters since millions of people started using it during the Covid-19 crisis.
While it allows anyone to use it for free, some of the more advanced features require a paid subscription, which range from AU$20.99 to AU$27.99 per month.
But a company owned by India's richest man couldn't let this opportunity pass by, so it created its own video conferencing tool – available entirely free without limits.
The trouble is, JioMeet, launched this month by subcontinent telco Reliance Jio, is almost a screen-for-screen copy of Zoom.
Immediately from launch, social media users pointed out the uncanny resemblance:

Yahoo Finance has contacted JioMeet for comment.
Industry publication Android Police also thought the "coincidences" were a bit much.
"Sure, there are only so many ways to create a video conferencing service, but the similarities between JioMeet and Zoom are just too striking," said Android Police writer Manuel Vonau.
"Compare that to other video chat apps like Google Meet, Skype, or Microsoft Teams, and you'll see vastly different approaches despite the apps offering the same functionality."
JioMeet is available on both Android and iOS.
