The Mohammed bin Rashid School for Communications at the American University in Dubai is offering you the chance to study a full-time diploma in being a social media influencer.
Wait - is this a real thing?
The Social Media Influencers Diploma Programme is definitely the real deal. It’s accredited by the UAE Ministry of Education and features six courses worth three credits each, offered over two semesters so that students can complete the program in just eight months.
Ali Jaber, Dean of the MBRSC said the course was, “developed by an elite group of university professors with different specialisations in media, strategic communications, journalism and media innovation”.
Do any other universities offer this?
The Dubai university is not the first to offer a uni course in becoming a social media influencer.
In fact, Condé Nast Italia’s ‘Social Academy’ in Milan has been offering a certified postgraduate degree in how to be a social media influencer since 2017.
