WWE UK champion Walter reportedly has title belt, passport stolen from car in Chicago

NXT superstar Walter, an Austrian wrestler who currently holds the WWE’s United Kingdom title, had his championship belt and passport stolen while in Chicago this weekend, according to a report by PWInsider.

Walter was at Logan Square Auditorium in Chicago for the wrestling event Evolve 142, which was held Saturday. His rental car was reportedly hit and broken into, and the belt and passport were taken, per PWInsider. Timothy Thatcher’s rental car was also reportedly broke into with property taken.

Walter, 32, had to wrestle barefoot since his gear was stolen, Wrestling Observer Radio reports. He defeated Josh Briggs.

According to Block Club Chicago, two men reported their rental car was broken into around 11 a.m. on Sunday. Per Chicago Police, the rear window was smashed and “several items were taken.” The area has been hit hard by break-ins recently, per Block Club Chicago, and a wrestling event runner said robbers were “constantly” breaking in during October.

Walter, who has held the belt since March, is not the only WWE competitor to have his belt stolen this year. Chris Jericho put out the word in September that he believed his All Elite Wrestling World Champion belt to be stolen after having dinner at a Longhorn Steakhouse in Tallahassee, Florida.

It was returned to him after a couple saw it lying in the middle of a highway and picked it up. They later listed it on Craigslist, thinking it was a replica, and turned it into police after acquaintances told them Jericho’s belt was missing. It was an interesting saga.
