Yahoo Finance Woman, 52, allegedly returns highest blood alcohol reading ever seen in New South Wales
Police on New South Wale's mid-north coast say a 52-year-old woman has recorded the highest blood alcohol reading they have ever seen.
An official test result received last week alleged confirmed the woman was nine times over the limit after a crash near Coffs Harbour in January.
Detective Inspector Darren Jameson said the 0.486 reading was the highest ever seen in NSW.
"Drink-driving is a very serious offence and not only risks the safety of the driver but all other road users," he said.
"This is the highest PCA we've ever recorded."
Police were called to a crash near on Sawtell Road at Boambee East near Coffs Harbour on January 13 after the 52-year-old's Hyundai Veloster left the road and collided with a fence.
She was taken to the Coffs Harbour hospital where a blood alcohol test was performed. The results were returned on Friday.
Her license has been suspended and she is due to face court on May 2.
