One day left for vaccinated Aussies to win $1 million

Fully-vaccinated Australians have one day left to enter to win $1 million as a massive vaccination prize campaign draws to a close.

The Million Dollar Vax campaign launched on Monday 4 October and is designed to “reward” Australians for quickly getting vaccinated, the campaign claims.

The total $4.1 million prize pool is made up of a $1 million cash prize to be drawn on 5 November, while the campaign has been drawing 3,100 gift cards worth $1,000 through October.

However Australians have only until 31 October to enter the competition and win the big prize.

A group of donors including MYOB co-founder Craig Winkler is funding the prize campaign.

“The purpose of the promotion is not to convince people to be vaccinated. That's a decision you should make in consultation with a health professional,” Winkler said earlier this month.

“The promotion simply seeks to reward people who decide to be vaccinated now rather than waiting, so that we can reduce the community impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The faster we reach higher vaccination rates nationally, higher than 80 per cent, the sooner we all can safely resume our full range of community and business activity."

To be eligible, Australians need to have received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine by 31 October.

It comes as Australia reaches 63.1 per cent of the eligible population fully vaccinated, while 76.16 per cent have received one dose.
