Yahoo Finance Tottenham's Dele Alli banned for one match over offensive COVID-19 video
Dele Alli, a midfielder for Tottenham, has been banned from participating in next week’s clash against Manchester United as punishment for posting an offensive COVID-19 video to Snapchat back in February.
The video, according to the BBC, showed a face-masked Alli in an airport lounge waiting for his flight to leave. Alli then moved off of his own face to show a man who appeared to be of Asian descent, and then panned to a bottle of hand sanitizer, which bore the caption "This virus gunna have to be quicker than that to catch me."
Alli, 23, apologized the day after he posted the video, saying that he soon realized that it wasn’t funny and removed it. He apologized again on Thursday after the Football Association’s decision came down.

According to the BBC, Alli also says he was betrayed by a friend who captured the video from his private account before it was deleted, and subsequently sold it to the media.
Alli’s suspension will last one game. The Football Association also fined him £50,000 (approx. $63,200).
