The eco-friendly fabric Tencel (also known as Lyocell) is what makes these sheets super soft. Tencel is a super breathable, absorbent fabric crafted with sustainably-sourced wood. According to the sheets’ product description, Tencel is “more absorbent than cotton, softer than silk and cooler than linen.” They also have a 320 thread count, which is high enough to make them durable but not overly dense. (West Elm also sells a “brushed” version of these sheets, essentially just a more matte finish.)

I have West Elm’s Silky Tencel sheet set and duvet cover, and I’m a big fan. I’m planning on getting a second pair now that they’re on sale. They’re lightweight and wash well but also feel as soft as my favorite pair of pajamas. I’m a bit of a hot sleeper, and the moisture-wicking fabric definitely helps keep me cooler at night.
The sheets are part of West Elm’s Warehouse Sale, where you can get up to 70% off on furniture, home decor, kitchen items, linens and more.
