The app that bullies you into losing weight
If you've been trying to lose weight but couldn't get off the couch, maybe this is what you have needed all along.
A new app called Carrot Hunger bullies you into burning calories.
The aim of the app is to shame you into sticking to your diet, by offering ‘words of encouragement’ such as ‘meatbag’ or ‘carcass’ if you are lucky.

You first type in your personal information such as your height, weight and activity level, before you are given a calorie goal.
You then track your calorie intake by scanning the barcode of the food you are about to eat and wait for the verbal onslaught to begin.
The app threatens to punish you ‘financially, aesthetically and socially if you dare to over-indulge”.

You have the choice of setting an iBeacon in your fridge to warn you that you are on the verge of overtaking your calorie goal.
If you do over-indulge you have a few choices.
For a small monetary ‘bribe’ of around one dollar, the app will add the item to the list of foods you’ve scanned without actually adding it to your calorie count.
Alternatively you could ‘accept consequences’, which might include social shaming you to your friends about your pathetic self control.

As a last resort, you could just put the cookie down and walk away slowly.
Thrown into the mix are some fake food advertisement to test your resolve.
According to Owen Williams for The Next Web, when he clicked on an ad for ‘free fries’ he was taunted for giving in.
At this stage only those with an iPhone or iPad can benefit from the amusing bullying techiques of the Carrot Hunger App.
