Tesla's big unveil; eBay shares sink; American Airlines drops on earnings

Tesla (TSLA) – CEO Elon Musk reveals that he envisions that by the end of 2017, a Tesla vehicle will be able to drive from Los Angeles to New York without the driver touching the wheel. The electric carmaker also announced that all of its cars being produced now will have full self-driving hardware installed.

eBay (EBAY) – The company topped Wall Street earnings estimates in the third quarter, but disappointed investors after giving a fourth-quarter forecast that partly fell below expectations. eBay now expects fourth-quarter revenue of $2.36 billion to $2.41 billion and adjusted earnings from continuing operations of 52 cents to 54 cents.

American Airlines (AAL) – The airliner reported third-quarter earnings that topped Wall Street estimates, reporting earnings per share of $2.80 on revenue of $10.59 billion. Despite beating expectations, American Airlines posted a 56% drop in net income from one year ago.

Under Armour (UA), Harman (HAR) – The two companies are teaming up to bring two new headphones to the market. The UA Sport Wireless Heartrate Headphones and UA Sport Wireless Headphones will go on sale next month.

Starbucks (SBUX) – The coffee giant announced plans to open its fourth global roaster in Japan during 2018. The Tokyo location follows openings in Shanghai, New York and Seattle.
