Teacher sings Chinese ‘dumpling song’ with her preschool students in adorable TikTok: ‘The cutest thing I’ve ever seen’

A teacher’s educational fingerplay song is teaching TikTokers how to make dumplings in an adorable way.

Chicago-based children’s songwriter and teaching artist Miss Katie (@misskatiesings) gained nearly 50,000 views and 580,000 likes when she uploaded the sing-along to her account.

Miss Katie, who is originally from Taiwan, grew up singing this sweet “dumpling song” — and now, she’s passing it down to her own students.

Buried in debt? A financial expert weighs in on how to get back on track

According to Miss Katie’s bio, she started making videos at the start of quarantine in order to provide supportive music content for children stuck at home.

“I view making music for children to be truly radical, beautiful work. Through my songs, I promote social-emotional learning, tenderness, creativity, and justice,” Miss Katie’s website explains.

After working as a professional musician and teacher for several years, creating content ranging from on-camera lessons to in-person kids’ classes, Miss Katie now teaches in virtual classes for preschools around the country.

“Through my work, I want young children to feel the way Mister Rogers made me feel growing up: valued, creative, and seen,” Miss Katie writes. “I love what I do here. I hope you do too.”
