Yahoo Finance SPOTTED: $41 flights to Tasmania
Dirt-cheap flights have been spotted on sale from mainland Australia to Tasmania.
Budget airline Jetstar is currently showing flights from Melbourne to Launceston at $41 one-way and amazingly only a few dollars more to take off from Sydney, at $48 one-way.
Melbourne to Hobart is on sale for $42 one-way, while Sydney to Hobart is showing as $69.
Yahoo Finance has confirmed the existence of the prices online. Normally flights from Melbourne and Sydney to Tasmania are $100 to $200 one-way.
The usual caveats apply for budget airline tickets – it’ll cost extra for checked luggage, in-flight food and in-flight entertainment.
But at $41 or $48, travellers will still likely pay more for the taxi or Uber to the airport than the actual air ticket.
As cold as winter is in Tasmania, there are attractions like the Dark Mofo art festival in Hobart in mid-June.
Brisbane travellers have not been forgotten either, with tickets to Hobart selling for $92. Adelaide residents can fly to the Tasmanian capital for $68 one-way, but Perth flyers miss out on this current sale.
While the sale will officially run until April 9, usually the seats at the lowest prices are limited and sell out pretty quickly.
