Bargain hunters’ headaches have continued today with another ANZ app outage.

The bank’s app was down for approximately two hours today around midday, forcing customers to turn to internet banking and ATMs to make purchases.

Customers took to Down Detector, a site which monitors complaints about malfunctioning apps, to air their frustrations.

“ANZ mobile app is down…again!” one user wrote earlier today.

“Wow the ANZ app is down again. This time it’s saying my pin is incorrect. After two more attempts of trying to login with my pin it says I may not be using the latest version of the app and therefore suggesting me to contact ANZ if the problem persists….Smh you better step it up ANZ or you are going to lose a lot of customers,” another customer added.

The app is now back online, but today’s challenges mirrored similar problems yesterday.

As the bank explained on Twitter, the app was down for several hours on Boxing Day.

ANZ not alone

Westpac customers also reportedly experienced outages during the Boxing Day sales.

“We are currently aware of the issue and our team is working to get this resolved ASAP,” a Westpac spokesperson told a disgruntled customer on Twitter.

Westpac said the issue lay in problems with some merchant terminals. As with the ANZ outage, customers were unable to pay via eftpos.

The issue has now been resolved.
