Security camera accidentally captures ‘sweetest moment’ between emotional 5-year-old and mom

This TikTok parent accidentally caught the sweetest moment between herself and her son on her doorbell security camera!

Destiny Bennett (@thebennettgang) is a TikTok parent who shares tips for healthy marriages and parenting advice, along with videos of her adorable kids.

While most of Destiny’s videos are recorded with the intentional purpose of sharing advice with other parents, Destiny recently uploaded a video that she didn’t mean to record at all!

The heartwarming video, which was caught on Destiny’s doorbell camera, shows Destiny comforting her son after a tantrum.

The video begins moments after Destiny and her son have left the house. Destiny crouches in front of the 5-year-old and looks into his eyes. “My 5-year-old really struggles with big feelings and regulating his emotions,” Destiny explains in a caption. “This morning he was dealing with a lot of anger and I felt myself getting triggered by his behavior so I decided we should take a walk.”

Before Destiny and her son leave for their walk, Destiny decides to talk to her son about his feelings. “I love you very much,” she tells the frustrated 5-year-old. “Do you know how much I love you?”

When Destiny’s son shakes his head, she replies by opening her arms up wide and saying, “I love you this much.”

“I can see how angry you are and I want you to feel better,” she continues. “Sometimes feeling better is getting the thing that we want, but sometimes we can’t get the things we want. It’s okay to be angry, but then we have to be able to let it go and understand that we’re not going to get it, and we have to find another way to make our body feel better.”

The video ends as Destiny gives her son a big hug and says, “I need you to love you, okay? I love you. Let’s have a good day today, okay?”

Viewers were moved by the sweet moment between Destiny and her son.

“My inner child is crying. Thank you for being an amazing parent,” wrote one viewer.

“This generation is going to raise some emotionally intelligent people and I love it so much,” another viewer commented.

“This conversation right here, while it seems simple, is everything. I wish someone could have done that for me. Keep up the good work!” applauded another TikToker.

Destiny’s video shows that sometimes, when your child is having a tough time, a few comforting words can go a long way in making things better.
