It’s the outfit that spawned a million Halloween outfits, a symbol of a good girl embracing her rebellious side, and just straight-up stylish.

And now, Olivia Newton-John’s famous skin-tight black pants and jackets have sold at auction for an amount that probably left her doing the hand jive for hours.

The outfit – which Newton-John had to be sewn into for her character Sandy– sold for AU$586,865 (US$405,700), nearly double the amount anticipated.

Clearly they’re the pants that everyone wants.

The outfit was part of a sale which raised US$2.4 million in total, with some of the proceeds to go towards the actress and singer’s cancer treatment centre.

Newton-John was diagnosed with cancer for the third time in 2018.

According to Reuters, the sale raised US$2.4 million.
