Rick Perry: The 'unemployment rate is a sham'
Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry has turned his sights on the falling unemployment rate.
"I'm going to say this quite plainly," Perry said Friday at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference. "The unemployment rate is a sham. It leaves millions of American workers uncounted. And if the Republican Party doesn't take a stand for these uncounted Americans, who will?"

Before calling out employment data, Perry chastised the Obama administration for what he described as a weak and ineffective approach toward terrorism and unrest in the Middle East. Perry was one of several high-profile conservative speakers at the CPAC conference on Thursday and Friday.
Perry comment's sought to discredit strong employment data coming from the Bureau of Labor Statistics that show an improving economy under President Barack Obama. The credibility of employment data was also a brief campaign issue in 2012.
