United States international Antonee Robinson will join AC Milan, according to Sky Sports’ Fabrizio Romano.

The 22-year-old fullback has become a regular with Wigan in the Championship, England’s second tier, and Milan’s loan of Ricardo Rodriguez to PSV Eindhoven cleared the way for Robinson’s arrival.

He’ll join Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who returned to Milan in late December, as the fallen Serie A giant attempts to rally and qualify for next season’s Champions League. It was banned from European competition this season due to Financial Fair Play violations.

Ownership upheaval has contributed to the penalties and unrest at the club, but there’s no denying it’s a great opportunity for Robinson, who made his USMNT senior debut in May 2018 and could be a key part of the squad in years to come.
