Cody Stamann vs. Askar Askar taken off UFC Fight Night 184 for non-COVID reasons

Cody Stamann’s third opponent was reportedly forced to withdraw from UFC Fight Night 184. The fight will now be canceled after Askar Askar was pulled from the event for non-COVID reasons, according to MMA Junkie.

Askar’s departure marks the third time Stamann’s opponent has been unable to take part in the event. Stamann was initially supposed to take on Merab Dvalishvil, but Dvalishvil withdrew due to COVID concerns. The same thing happened with Stamann’s second opponent, Andre Ewell.

Askar was reportedly not medically cleared to take part in the fight, according to Marc Raimondi of ESPN.

The news comes two days after Askar expressed excitement about taking part in his promotional debut.
