Pet owner shares 'world's most terrifying' optical illusion: 'What's going on?'

A pet owner shared a jaw-dropping photo of their two dogs on Reddit.

They posted the image in the “What’s Wrong With Your Dog?” forum. The strange picture of the two canines made for a bizarre optical illusion that looked more like a single beast than a dog. Some were completely stumped by what they saw, while others threw out their best guesses. The photo received over 62,000 upvotes on Reddit.

“My dogs share a mouth sometimes,” the Redditor captioned the photo.

In the unusual picture, two white-furred husky-German shepherd mixes appeared as one. The creature created by the optical illusion had a single mouth with gnashed teeth — with an eye and a snout above and below the mouth and three paws.

“Wait a second, what’s going on?” one commenter asked.

What the image actually showed was one dog upside down on top of the other. The photographer managed to capture the moment the dogs’ mouths perfectly aligned to create the striking picture.

Redditors were stumped by what they were really looking at, however. One user even made a color-coded outline to show where one dog begins and the other ends.

“I knew there were two dogs. I just still can’t tell where each of them begins or ends,” one person commented.

“Genuinely thought this was the world’s most terrifying rug at first glance,” someone said.
