Nvidia (NVDA) Outpaces Stock Market Gains: What You Should Know

In the latest trading session, Nvidia (NVDA) closed at $171.30, marking a +1.7% move from the previous day. This change outpaced the S&P 500's 0.28% gain on the day. Elsewhere, the Dow gained 0.07%, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq added 0.71%.

Prior to today's trading, shares of the maker of graphics chips for gaming and artificial intelligence had gained 9.31% over the past month. This has outpaced the Computer and Technology sector's gain of 2.34% and the S&P 500's gain of 1.93% in that time.

Wall Street will be looking for positivity from NVDA as it approaches its next earnings report date. This is expected to be August 15, 2019. The company is expected to report EPS of $1.15, down 40.72% from the prior-year quarter.
