NFL fines Josh Allen $15K for flicking ball at Chiefs pass-rusher's face after sack

A wild sequence of events following a Kansas City Chiefs sack in last Sunday’s AFC championship game has resulted in fines for Josh Allen and two of his offensive linemen.

The Buffalo Bills quarterback has been fined $15,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct, according to NFL Network. Allen’s offense: a casual flick of the ball into the face of Chiefs pass rusher Alex Okafor after a sack.

The play in question occurred late in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game. On third-and-10 in the red zone, Chiefs defensive lineman Tanoh Kpassagnon burst into the pocket and chased Allen 15 yards backward before the play was called dead. Around that time, Okafor also reached Allen and took the quarterback down as the whistle blew.

A frustrated Allen responded by flicking the ball into Okafor’s facemask. Okafor responded by getting up and angrily standing over Allen, at which point offensive linemen Jon Feliciano and Dion Dawkins shoved and tackled Okafor back to the ground:

Dawkins and Feliciano were both reportedly fined $10,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct for attacking Okafor.

It appears Okafor was not punished himself for the late hit. Chiefs pass rusher Chris Jones has also not been reported to be fined for a punch missed by officials but noticed on replay.
