Mom captures the ‘realness of marriage’ when she makes husband’s favorite meal in the middle of a fight

To keep the peace in her house, a mom made her husband his favorite dinner during a tumultuous time in their marriage.

TikToker @linneahhhh and her husband were fighting nonstop. Although their marriage had been tested before, the couple couldn’t seem to navigate this rough patch.

Instead of engaging in another argument, the wife and mother tried something else: a kind gesture.

Now, like the wife who accidentally recorded the exact moment that saved her marriage, this mom’s TikTok is proving that it’s often the little gestures that matter most.

“Lately, my husband and I have been fighting — over everything,” she explained. He’s wrong. I’m wrong. Nobody wins. I hate fighting. [So,] to restore a little peace in our house, I’m going to make him his favorite dinner.”

“We’re just not seeing eye-to-eye on literally anything. We make things so difficult for each other. And why?” she asked. “This is my husband, my best friend. We’ve been through so much together, thick and thin — in sickness and in health. We put our vows to the test numerous times.”

She wondered how things had gotten to this point. But instead of giving up, she decided to make her husband’s favorite meal as a small peace offering and, hopefully, the first step to a resolution.

“And now, we fight over nothing,” she said. “We can be so mean. And I hate being mean. It’s not in my character. But sometimes, my anxiety level is high, and I don’t know how to deal with it. So I’m doing a little something to try and tell him that I love him. He is my husband, the father of my child, the rock of our family, and I hope this makes his night.”

The video received over 13 million views on TikTok.

“Thank you for sharing the realness of marriage,” a user wrote.

“Any good person knows the best way to a man’s heart is through his stomach,” another said.

“I love how truthful this is! No glamourized idealistic expectations. So real and relatable,” someone commented.
