In The Know Honors: Geneva Heyward

Geneva Heyward
Geneva Heyward

Game developer
Age: 21
Hometown: New York, New York

New storylines are always needed, and developing games is how 19-year-old Geneva Heyward tells their favorite tales. While Heyward creates games with a message like fighting climate change or a queer romance in the skating rink, they also “focus on making someone believable — characters that have full personalities and different sides to them.” Formerly a student at the School of Interactive Arts (SIA), they worked on the game Green Hero, which won awards from Games for Change as well as the National STEM Video Game Challenge in 2017. You can play any of Heyward’s games here.
