Action star Jeremy Renner has shared a video of himself walking on an anti-gravity treadmill to aid his recovery following a horror snowplough accident.

The Avengers actor was run over by a 6-tonne snowplough outside his home in Nevada on New Year’s Day as he was trying to “save his nephew” from getting hurt by the machine.

Renner, 52, suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopaedic injuries in the accident – with the star later revealing he had broken more than 30 bones.

On Sunday Renner shared a video of himself walking on an anti-gravity treadmill as part of his recovery.

In the video, Renner can be heard saying the machine helps his body feel “less weight” as he walks – comparing it to “having a cane” in terms of assisting his movement.

“Now is the time for my body to rest and recover from my will,” the star wrote in the caption of the clip.

He has previously shared a video of him using a exercise bike to help movement in his lower body.

In that video, he said he was doing “whatever it takes” to get better.

The actor also revealed he is working on his mental recovery too by reading The Book Of Awakening: Having The Life You Want By Being Present In The Life You Have, by Mark Nepo – which is a series of daily reflections.

In February, his Marvel co-star Evangeline Lilly said she had recently visited the wheelchair-bound actor at his home and that she felt his swift recovery was a “straight-up miracle”.

Lilly told US outlet Access Hollywood: “I walked in his house and got chicken skin, because I was like, ‘Why are you mobile? Why are you mobile? What’s happening?’

“I expected to sit at his bedside and hold his hand while he moaned and groaned in pain and wasn’t able to move. He was wheeling himself around, laughing with his friends. It’s a miracle, a straight-up miracle.

“He’s made of something really tough, that guy. You’ve always been able to see that in him. He is recovering incredibly, and I’m so grateful.”

It comes after Renner recently announced his new Disney+ construction show Rennervations, and said he was excited to share the project with fans “as soon as I’m back on my feet”.
