Former football star Jarryd Hayne has listed his eastern Sydney home on sale.

The renovated 1890s terrace house in Darlinghurst is laid out over three levels with two bedrooms.

Hayne has listed it with an asking price of $2.35 million, after he bought it in October 2013 for $1,585,000.

"Tucked away in a quiet, leafy enclave this terrace has been completely renovated into an impressive and chic inner city haven," said Our Estates agents Adam Regan in Ellen Trojkovic in the sale ad.

The property has rear-lane access for a car, ducted air conditioning, polished concrete floors and Miele kitchen appliances.

Hayne starred for the Parramatta Eels in the NRL before heading to the US in 2015 to try his luck in American football.

He saw some gametime with San Francisco before heading back to Australia to play rugby union then back to rugby league.

He has not played this year, facing alleged sexual assault-related legal cases both in Australia and the US.

The Darlinghurst terrace has always been rented out, according to news.com.au.

The place demanded $1,350 a week in rental ads the past couple of years, although it was brought down to $1,100 last month.
