Disney+ opens for streaming: How to get it
Disney+ has launched in Australia with more than 600 moves and 7,000 episodes and plans to suck the oxygen out of Netflix and Stan.

Disney+ has already ripped its content from Stan, delivering a massive blow to the local streamer.
And after accruing 10 million subscriptions within one day of launching in the USA, all eyes will be on the “Netflix killer” platform’s performance here.
As the kid-centric platform launches, the streaming space will become astronomically more competitive, but Disney+ will have one advantage – it doesn’t need to convince anyone about the content.
As industry insider Matthew Ball said, Disney – which owns Marvel, Star Wars and Pixar – has released the highest grossing films of 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 and was the first to release five films which made more than US$1 billion in one year in 2019.
And with its suite of original series, including the highly anticipated The Mandalorian Star Wars spin off, the platform will sell itself to fans almost immediately.
When does the next episode of The Mandalorian come out?
The Mandalorian is considered the biggest draw-card of Disney+, with the first two episodes available upon the launch. The live-action Star Wars series is the first of its kind within the Star Wars universe.
New episodes of the original series will premiere on Fridays at 7:01pm AEDT, beginning from 22 November.
How do I get Disney+ in Australia?
You can sign up the way you would for any other streaming service, although the Disney+ trial period of just one week is significantly lower than the standard month offered by other streaming platforms.
You can jump online for a free trial at the Disney+ site, and provide card details. Then, you can watch the content from your computer or download the Disney+ app for your phone. And you can stream it to Apple TV or Chromecast it, with the platform supporting streams on up to four devices at a time.
If you love it, it’s $8.99 a month or $89.99 a year.
Disney+ hacker challenge
However, Disney+ has reportedly already been hacked, with ZDNet reporting accounts being sold on the dark web.
“DISNEY+ HAS BEEN OPEN FOR LIKE 10 HOURS AND MY ACCOUNT HAS ALREADY BEEN HACKED," one user wrote on Twitter.
