The hilarious reason France’s EU minister named her cat ‘Brexit’
France’s minister for European affairs, Nathalie Loiseau, has named her cat ‘Brexit’ because when she opens the door he ‘stays put’.
“He wakes me up every morning meowing to death because he wants to go out, and then when I open the door he stays put, undecided, and then glares at me when I put him out,” Loiseau told Le Journal du Dimanche.
It’s the perfect, and hilarious, metaphor for Brexit.

It’s an observation that’s been put forward before on Twitter.
This has to be one of the best political cartoons I've ever seen. pic.twitter.com/njNqBVGg5F

Loiseau’s comments come just days after the British Parliament voted 312 – 308 to reject a move to exit the European Agreement without an exit deal.
While the vote doesn’t remove the possibility of a Brexit, it does open the door for a delay to the major political move.
The UK first voted to depart the EU in 2016.
