Great Scott! You can get a SodaStream for just £19.55 this Back to the Future Day

If you drew a ‘great deals’ venn diagram of sparkling water fans and movie buffs, this offer from SodaStream would be slap bang in the middle.

While Mean Girls experts know exactly why October 3 is special, and Star Wars enthusiasts never tire of that May day, fans of Robert Zemeckis’ epic time traveling trilogy will know today as Back to the Future Day.

Why? In the second movie, October 21 is the day that Marty McFly goes 88mph forward in time to stop his feckless son from making a stupid mistake. It leads him to ping-pong back and forth across dimensions to rectify the domino effect of his actions. Granted, he goes to 2015, but why let a small detail like that get in the way of fanfare?

To celebrate, sparkling water machine SodaStream is rolling out an epic deal in its honour.

For a limited time only, it’s rolling back the price of its Spirit machine, normally £132.96, to just £19.55.

Eagle-eyed readers will spot that’s the same year Marty travels back to in the first movie in the series.

The deal includes SodaStream’s new flavourings, which allow you to make iconic soft drinks fresh from the machine. The bundle will include the machine complete with the gas cylinder to make the bubbles, as well as one each of the new PepsiCo flavours: Pepsi MAX, Pepsi, 7UP Free and 7UP.

It means you can make like Marty and enjoy a cold one in Cafe 80s.

But hurry, time flies. There are just 100 bundles of the machines and flavours up for grabs, so the offer won’t last for long.

They’ll go on sale at 10:04pm - the moment lightning strikes the clock tower - on the SodaStream website until stock runs out.

If you’re not quick enough and don’t have a DeLorean to turn back time and try again, fear not.

The machines and new Pepsi flavours from SodaStream are available to purchase now for £4.99 from Sainsbury’s, Amazon, Ocado, John Lewis, Lakeland and more, as well as directly through SodaStream.

The future is here folks, and it tastes delicious.
