Revealed: The 289 restaurants slashing bills 50% for the next six weeks

It’s too easy to cancel dinner reservations in winter: it’s raining outside, it’s been dark since 4:30 and you still have leftover spaghetti from last night. Then there’s Netflix.

But if anything will entice hungry people out of home, it’s a half-price special and the next six weeks will be absolutely full of them.

From today (1 July) to 11 August, 289 restaurants across Australia will offer half-price meals to encourage Australians to pause the Stranger Things binge and get out of the house.

The promotion by TheFork, previously known as online reservation platform Dimmi, extends across breakfast, lunch and dinner as part of TheFork Festival with all bills halved.

“We know that reservation numbers are typically down in July across Australia, and this is just one of the ways that we can incentivise diners to get out through winter whether that means revisiting your local favourite, or discovering somewhere new each week,” communications manager for TheFork, Kate Young said.

Which restaurants are participating?

The offer is available when you book via TheFork website, or through the app. However, you’d better be fast. Most restaurants have a limit of up to 40 diners using the promotion, and others have only selected dates available.
