An original race car from the Fast and Furious franchise is being auctioned today.

The Chevrolet Chevelle SS, which was driven by Vin Diesel in the 2009 Fast and Furious 4 film, is expected to be sold for six figures, according to Lloyds Auctions chief operations officer Lee Hames.

“This car was in fact the actual original ‘Hero Car’, driven by Vin Diesel himself on the set of the Fast and Furious 4 movie and was the principle car used whilst shooting the film,” Hames said.

“What the final figure will be is anyone’s guess as it will be a car to treasure and will go down in history forever.”

The auction gives an Australian the chance to own a piece of Hollywood blockbuster film history.

At the time of writing, the current bid on the 1970 vehicle, listed on Lloyds Auctions website, is $101,000.

The four-speed manual car features a V8 engine, nitrous bottle, Willwood and drift brakes, Hotchkis suspension, and alloy wheels.

The car has been left ‘as is’ from its previous owners in order to preserve the way it looked in the film, and will be sold with the Universal Studio Certificate of Title.

The bonnet of the car has been signed by the late Paul Walker’s brother Cody Walker in April 2015.

Online bidding is available at lloydsauctions.com.au and ends midday today, Saturday 26 September.
