A TikToker has shared his daily routine working a regular 9-to-5 job, and it’s sparked a flurry of debate.

Connor, a 28-year-old living in Dallas, Texas, regularly shares day-in-the-life work videos on TikTok under the username hubs.life and says he is “normalising the norm”.

One video, which was shared on Twitter and has now racked up more than 100 million views, is titled: “Life after college as a 28-year-old with a normal job”.

The video shows Connor packing up his laptop for work, driving into the office and tapping away on his laptop.

He then heads home for lunch at 11:00am and plays with his dog, before heading back to the office to finish off the day.

He clocks off around 4:30pm and heads to the gym. He is then seen back home training his dog, showering, having dinner and a beer, and watching TV.

He ends the video saying he is going to “chill until I do it all over again tomorrow”.

‘Depressing’

The video has gone viral on Twitter after one user posted it and commented: “This video was so depressing that I started tearing up watching it.”

Other users agreed, with one saying: “I think the sense of anomie is from how he's not living *toward* anything.”

“I would hate myself if I lived like this ‘stable’ job with the same daily robotic routines [where] there is no adventure or excitement,” another said.

But others disagreed, saying people had an “unrealistic” view of what people’s day-to-day work life looked like.

“Oh no this guy makes a perfectly good living pushing buttons sitting down, has his food made for him, his beer brewed for him, the greatest entertainment the world has to offer piped into his clean and safe home where waits a dog who loves him,” one person said.

“Looks fine to me. He keeps his place clean and has good habits. I imagine he mixes things up sometimes. Some of you were fooled by the facial expressions and music. Having a simple routine is a luxury once you have a wife and kids,” another person said.
