David Moyes has hailed his "amazing" West Ham players for finishing a run of three games in six days with a late win at Everton.

Tomas Soucek's late winner at Goodison Park brought Moyes his first win back at his old club since leaving in 2013 and made it five points from three festive fixtures.

The likes of Soucek and Declan Rice have played every minute of those three games and showed no signs of slowing down against a Toffees side who had enjoyed a far longer break after their game against Manchester City was postponed earlier in the week.

"To come to Goodison and get three points and play as well as we did, we did a good professional job and got our rewards for it," said Moyes, who was marking a year since taking charge of his first game back at West Ham.

"The players have played three games in six days, they’re amazing. I don’t think you’d have said there was any difference in the fitness levels and how they looked.

"So great credit to the players for the way they have gone about it, and that’s a big change in the mentality here at West Ham and they’ve shown it in the games."
