Colorado in the NCAA tournament: Buffaloes a veteran team

No. 5 Colorado Buffaloes

Record: 22-8 (14-6 Pac-12)

Tournament opponent: No. 12 Georgetown

Region: East

Line: Colorado -5; O/U: 138½

Coach: Tad Boyle (11th season)

Player to know: McKinley Wright IV

Colorado finished the regular season in third place in the Pac-12, the program’s best finish since it joined the conference in 2012. The Buffaloes, back in the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2016, closed out the regular season in impressive fashion, winning seven of their last nine contests.

The Buffs are led by senior guard McKinley Wright IV, a first-team all-conference performer. Wright is the team’s leading scorer at 15.5 points per game and leads the Pac-12 in assists per game (5.6). While Wright leads the way, CU is a team filled with veteran contributors. Including Wright, seven of the team’s top scorers are upperclassmen. That group includes senior Jeriah Horne, the team’s sixth man who averages 11.4 points while shooting 42.1% from deep.

Defensively, CU allows just 63 points per game. As such, the under is 18-11-1 in CU games.

The state of Colorado is a BetMGM sports betting market.
