Centrelink online and mobile app are not working on Thursday.

Just as millions of Australians have joined the queue the past two months for assistance, the website and app for the Australian government social services organisation is dysfunctional.

Users attempting to report their income first notified Services Australia about the issue on Thursday morning via social media.

Services Australia then took several hours to acknowledge there was an issue but no explanation or resolution estimate were provided.

"Thanks for letting us know. We’re aware of the issue and are urgently investigating," was the reply given to complainants.

"If you’re registered for phone self service, you can report via 13 3276 (13 EARN), or try again later."

Yahoo Finance contacted Services Australia but it could not provide any further details.
