1. Carnival deep-fried candy bar

Crunchy on the outside and sweet and gooey on the inside, fried candy bars are a state fair staple. To make your own, simply unwrap a candy bar and cover it in flour. Then dip it in a batter made from flour, corn flour, baking soda and milk. Finally, deep fry the candy bar, let it cool, and enjoy!

2. Classic carnival lemonade

Wash down that fried candy bar with some refreshing lemonade. Start by thoroughly washing and drying a bunch of lemons. Next, grate the lemon zest into a bowl and combine it with sugar. Then set it aside for at least two hours. Pour boiling water over the mixture and stir until the sugar dissolves, forming a syrup. Strain the syrup before combining it with fresh lemon juice. Finally, pour the lemonade into a pitcher over ice, and refrigerate for a few hours before serving.

3. Carnival deep-fried Oreos

Anything goes when it comes to deep-frying things at a state fair, especially Oreo cookies. First, roll out a sheet of puff pastry dough onto a floured cookie tray. Next, line up a few rows of Oreos. Then use a pizza cutter to slice the dough around the cookies into squares. Wrap the dough around each Oreo and pinch the ends to seal it. Finally, pop them in the air fryer at 330 degrees Fahrenheit for eight minutes. Then sprinkle on a generous amount of powdered sugar before serving.

4. Carnival corn dogs

No carnival would be complete without corn dogs. For this recipe, start by covering uncooked hot dogs in corn starch. Then skewer each one with a popsicle stick. Next, dip each hot dog in a batter made from cornmeal, flour, baking powder and garlic powder combined with buttermilk, eggs and melted butter. Finally, fry the corn dogs on medium-high heat for three to four minutes before serving with your favorite toppings.

5. Carnival caramel corn

This recipe for caramel corn is so delicious and simple. All you have to do is combine butter, brown sugar, corn syrup and salt in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring the mixture to a boil and let it simmer for five minutes. Then add baking soda and vanilla extract. Pour the sauce over a bowl of freshly popped popcorn and stir well, making sure all the popcorn is coated. Finally, bake at 250 degrees Fahrenheit for 40 minutes, and enjoy!
