Breaking: White House Doubts China Virus Information – Reports

Investing.com – The Trump administration is skeptical about information on the Covid-19 virus coming out of China and believes the number of cases is being under-reported, according to published reports Thursday.

The White House thinks the number of cases have been under-reported by at least 100,000 and that China is “severely” under-reporting the number of deaths, Fox Business reported, citing administration sources.

China also “continues to rebuff American offers of assistance,” CNBC reported, citing a senior administration official.

Despite these reports, the main indexes on Wall Street remained off earlier lows. The S&P 500 was off 0.1%, with the Nasdaq Composite down 0.1% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 0.3%.
