The best Aldi specials this week

Much to the chagrin of Coles and Woolworths, the Aldi juggernaut keeps on keeping on.

The German challenger has carefully crafted an image in the Australian consciousness of consistently low prices, even though factually that's not always true.

The strategy has worked. Research last year suggested Australian shoppers now have "an emotional connection" to the Aldi brand, and the supermarket is set to grab similar market share to Woolies and Coles within the next 10 years.

Just as we did last year, Yahoo Finance will continue to pick out Aldi's best specials each week for your perusal pleasure.

However, the usual caveat applies – Aldi's grocery deals, named Super Savers, are never as discounted as heavily as Woolworths and Coles' half-price specials. But they do come off a lower base price:
