Arsenal v Villarreal: Europa League prediction, kick off time, TV channel, h2h, team news, lineup, live stream

Arsenal know their entire season rests on tonight as they welcome Villarreal, and former coach Unai Emery, for the second leg of their Europa League semi-final.

The Gunners escaped a chaotic first leg by the skin of their teeth, falling two goals down and seeing Dani Ceballos sent off only for Etienne Capoue to himself see red and Nicolas Pepe score a vital away goal from the penalty spot.

Mikel Arteta oversaw the Gunners’ worst ever league campaign last season and the club is on course to do even worse this season - only Europa League success will do.

Date, time and venue

Arsenal vs Villarreal is scheduled for an 8pm BST kick-off today, May 6, 2021.

The match will be held behind closed doors at Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal team news

Arsenal: Leno, Holding, Pablo Mari, Xhaka, Bellerin, Smith-Rowe, Thomas, Saka, Pepe, Aubameyang, Odegaard

Subs: Tierney, Gabriel, Lacazette, Willian, Cedric, Chambers, Nelson, Elneny, Nketiah, Ryan, Martinelli, Okonkwo

Villarreal: Rulli, Mario, Albiol, Torres, Pedraza, Parejo, Coquelin, Trigueros, Gerard, Alcacer, Chukwueze

Subs: Sergio Asenjo, Funes Mori, Bacca, Raba, Estupinan, Moreno, Pena, Jaume, Moi Gomez, Pino, Baena, Nino

Prediction: Arsenal 1-1 Villarreal

Arsenal’s home form has been dismal of late and are unlucky to be in with a shout of reaching the final after a disastrous opening hour in the first leg a week ago.

They must start quickly, which they did against Newcastle at the weekend even with a number of changes. However, Unai Emery is the more experienced - and more talented - of the two managers and that should see the Spanish side through, though it will be tense.
