Bernd Leno – 6: Enjoyed a quiet evening between the posts.
Cedric Soares – 7: Somewhat of a surprise inclusion but worked hard from start to finish. Provided the assist for the Gunners’ third goal after doing well to keep the ball in play.
David Luiz – 6: Had little to worry about in the centre of the Arsenal defence.

Rob Holding – 6: Similarly to Luiz, the centre-back was rarely troubled.
Kieran Tierney – 7: Returned in defence and showed his usual spirit.
Thomas Partey – 8: Tidy display in his first start in more than a month with a fine assist to show for it. Substituted on 66 minutes as a precaution.
Granit Xhaka – 7: A strong, active presence in the middle of the pitch for the Gunners.
Bukayo Saka – 8: Offered what Arsenal have come to expect from the 19-year-old: energy and diligence. Took his goal with confidence.
Emile Smith Rowe – 8: Form is temporary, so what the 20-year-old is displaying seems to be genuine class. Provided a neat assist for Saka’s goal.
Alexandre Lacazette – 6: Some decent moments but was less dangerous than Mikel Arteta’s other attacking players.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – 8: Perhaps should have scored in the first half but hit the post on the angle. Took both of his goals very well in the second half, however.
Substitutes: Mohamed Elneny – 6; Willian – 6; Martinelli – 6.
Newcastle
Karl Darlow – 6: Could do little about any of Arsenal’s goal.
Emil Krafth – 6: Made some good defensive reads and blocks, and got forward at every opportunity. Was let down by his defensive colleagues at times, but the Swede also struggled in the second half.
Jamaal Lascelles – 5: Has been short on game time due to his recent struggles with coronavirus, and it showed here.
Ciaran Clark – 5: Had difficulty in dealing with the pace and dynamism of Arsenal’s attackers.
Jamal Lewis – 5: Was also up against it more and more as the game wore on.
Jonjo Shelvey – 6: When Newcastle were on the ball, the midfielder looked to be positive with forward passes.
Matty Longstaff – 6: Contributed his usual verve but without managing to affect the game too much.
Miguel Almiron – 7: Was lively throughout and keen to influence the result.
Joelinton – 4: Largely anonymous for the visitors.
Andy Carroll – 5: Was too often on the edge of the box with the ball, rather than in the middle waiting for it.
Callum Wilson – 6: Showed good strength, though he rarely found himself on the ball in ideal positions.
